It's the last night of summer at Camp Woodfire — the Final Banquet, the send-off, the whole gang together one more time. Everyone here has a job, a history, and a few things they'd rather keep quiet. Here's who you'll find around the campfire tonight.
Has run Woodfire for as long as anyone can remember: he fixes the pipes, spins the records, makes the announcements, and keeps the whole creaky place duct-taped together. Tonight he's your emcee for the Final Banquet.
Loud, confident, and absolutely certain he's the best counselor Woodfire has ever had. He's spent all summer campaigning to be named Camp MVP, and he'd like everyone to know it.
Fierce leader of the girls' cabin and a veteran of every color war the camp has ever fought. She plays to win, especially against the boys' cabin.
Runs the kitchen with enormous pride and a very short fuse. He's fed this camp three meals a day all summer, and he does not take kindly to food critics. Married to Dolores at the snack shack; together they know everything that happens here.
Keeper of the candy, the bug juice, and everybody's secrets. From behind that counter she hears it all, and she keeps a very careful tab.
Dramatic, big-hearted, and a little intense. She can turn a fistful of macaroni into a masterpiece, and she remembers every single person who ever called it "just crafts."
The rugged one: trail, bow, and campfire. Gruff on the surface, a softie underneath, and quietly competitive about who really runs the best program at camp. There may be a certain will-they-won't-they with the arts-and-crafts cabin.
Calm in a crisis, sharp-eyed, and the only person who knows everyone's medical business. If something's wrong with you, she already wrote it down. Married to the camp director, whose constant flirting she meets with total deadpan.
Energetic and fearless on the dock. She keeps the waterfront running all summer, though there may have been one incident she'd rather not discuss.
So close to being a real counselor he can taste it. He does all the work and gets none of the credit, and he is very aware of it. Lately he's appointed himself camp detective.
Sharp, observant, and always a step ahead of the rumor mill. She notices the things everyone else misses.
The camp's reigning champion of mischief: fun, fearless, and usually in the middle of whatever's going down after lights-out. Rules are more like gentle suggestions.
Quiet and thoughtful, she keeps a journal of absolutely everything that happens at camp. Everything. People forget she's listening; that's their mistake.
The youngest campers are on a special mission tonight. Something strange is happening at Camp Woodfire, and the grown-ups are too distracted to notice, so it's up to these four to crack it.
The ringleader. Big ideas, big energy, never backs down.
Bold and curious, first to volunteer for any adventure.
The careful one, great at spotting the clue everybody else walks right past.
Cheerful and quick, makes friends with anyone, which is very handy when you need information.
A slick businessman from the city who keeps phoning the camp with "exciting opportunities." Nobody's quite sure what he actually wants.
